Learn the Story Behind the Book

A Note from the Author Angie Bird

When my daughter Eva was in elementary school, she confided in me, that a group of girls was bullying her. As I was helping Eva work through it, I was inspired to write a poem, which became the text of this book. I shared it with Eva, because I wanted her to know in her own heart that she is amazing. I asked her if she wanted to share the message and work on turning it into a book. It's taken a couple of years to bring it to publication and it truly warms my heart to have something beautiful come from something so difficult.

What a fantastic book with an incredible message. My students are often looked at and sometimes treated differently. I think it is these differences that make each of us unique, special, and important. Like Eva says, fly your own way! It is truly what makes you extraordinary
